Donut Boyz Opens West End | What Sets Them Apart From The Rest
Well, I'm pretty sure this is the only 6 pack we will ever have...
Brisbane's newest doughnut joint - Donut Boyz - is located in a very on trend, re-purposed shipping container next to the Boundary Street Market and Gunshop Cafe. The space may be tiny but these guys are already sending waves through the foodie community.
I'll admit at first I wasn't all that interested in trying these doughnuts. I had only recently confessed to friends that I was sick of doughnuts. You see, I've always been passionately in love with doughnuts, long before everyone in Brisbane went mad about them. Sort of like Lana Del Rey... I was already zoning out to her music before the whole Great Gatsby thing happened...but I digress.
With all the doughnut hysteria that has consumed Brisbane as of late I found myself just about completely over doughnuts...I was also broke because these things are pricey $$$
This all changed when I read a very honest article from another food blogger who had recently compared the top doughnut contenders in Brisbane. Donut Boyz came out on top and it's not hard to understand why.
It all boils down to Price & Quality. Donut Boyz is nearly HALF THE PRICE of it's competition, only charging around $3.50 per doughnut. A six pack of doughnuts like the one pictured above is only $21 for 3 glazed, and 3 filled!
The quality is definitely there. The doughnuts at Donut Boyz stay true to the classic doughnut. Light, Fluffy, and Delicious! Their topping creations are truly inspired and the flavors are intense. Some of the highlights include: Chocolate Malt, Blueberry Cheesecake, Pistachio, and Lemon Meringue.
So maybe I'm not over doughnuts just yet...It's good to know that now, I won't go broke fueling my addiction.
