This Little Piggy Went To Brunswick Street: New Pig N Whistle Opens In The Valley...

By C. Hawkins - 14:41

This little piggy checked out the new Pig N Whistle in Fortitude Valley a few weekends ago...

If you follow me on twitter you've probably seen all of the delicious food pics from our dinner at Pig N Whistle. If you haven't you are in for a real treat!

Sorry for the delay in posting reviews it has been pretty hectic at AmeriAus HQ the last few months. We are back in the swing of things and ready to share our foodie adventures (in detail) with you on this little blog. Remember you can follow our food adventures in real time by following us on Instagram (@ameriaus_food) or Twitter (@ameriaus_food) !! We update these accounts pretty much every day.

If you live in Brisbane Pig N Whistle is no stranger to you. They have several locations in Brisbane: Riverside, Indooroopilly, Queen Street, AND NOW Brunswick Street. Pig N Whistle is a traditional British pub. Well the PNW you know and love is now in Brisbane's most popular night life district.

The Brunswick Street location is extremely sleek, and stylish. The venue boasts two large outdoor beer garden, high ceiling, and exposed brick heritage listed architecture.

The downstairs area offers a more formal, modern dining experience. Sneak away downstairs with your date and enjoy a romantic dinner. Diners even get a front row seat of the chef in action! You can see magnificent dishes crafted before your very eyes.

We began with Salt and Pepper Calamari, Mushroom Arancini, and Crispy Chicken Wings and Oysters Kilpatrick from the 'Small Plates to Share' menu...

Fabulous! These chicken wings were perfectly crispy with a spicy kick! This dish would go perfect with an ice cold beer.

Arancini is my weakness. PNW on Brunswick make a divine mushroom arancini. The arancini came with a mouthwatering tarator sauce, and paramesan! Crunchy on the outside... creamy, mushroom goodness on the inside.

If I had to sum up the calamari in 2 words I would say: Fresh & Tender ! The calamari was perfectly seasoned and went will with the zesty lime & Japanese mayo.

The oysters were very fresh. I love that they added a bit of zest to the oysters kilpatrick marinade. It really helped to cut through the salty bacon bits.

For our mains we had a classic Beef & Guinness Pie and Fillet Mignon...

You can't visit a traditional British Pub without trying something of the "British Pub Classics" menu. The Beef & Guinness Pie is an excellent choice. The pie was massive! SO filling. Stuffed full of beautiful slow cooked beef with a side of veggies. This dish warms the soul.

The Fillet mignon was elegantly presented. It was accompanied by a bone marrow dumpling (something we'd never tried before) asparagus, and a Cabernet jus! That Fillet mignon was skilfully prepared and went well with the creamy bone marrow dumpling. Bravo PNW!

And finally, for dessert we enjoyed the Smashed Chocolate Pudding and the Vanilla Creme Brulee...

INSANE! Just looking at this picture makes me want to run to Brunswick Street.... This is a must try. It has everything. Decadent chocolate, fresh raspberries, cocoa crumble, toasted hazelnut, vanilla bean ice cream...

This brulee was beautifully presented. It looked like a work of art. Leave your "pub food" sterotypes at the door. PNW Brunswick are serving up QUALITY food. Dinner was excellent.

An Affogato to finish a great dinner experience...

If you are looking for a relaxing atmosphere and genuinely good food we recommend checking out the new PNW on Brunswick St.
